Description: Short branches are upright rom stems and densely covered in leaves. leaves are dark green. Capsules are cylindrical in shape. Leaves are lance in shape and very small.

Habitat: Rock near stream/ very damp
Location: James H. Barrow Field Station

Description: Small, found in a mat over wet rocks near a stream. Shoots are irregular and packed densely with leaves. The leaves are lance and the midrib is lacking. No capsules present in this specimen.

Description: Unicellular desmid, crescent shaped with two chloroplasts on either side with a white space in between. Looks symmetrical.
